About
In 2012, West African immigrant and refugee mothers living in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center saw the challenges facing families within their communities. Using their knowledge about the communities and having a personal understanding of the challenges faced by newly-immigrant families, the mothers came together to create change, and Legacy Family Center was born.
We believe refugees and immigrants can embrace who they are, define their future, and change the community.
Our Mission
Legacy Family Center provides West African refugee and immigrant families with holistic, culturally appropriate support services focused on education, workforce development, wellness building, and being a social services connector to minimize the barriers to self-sufficiency and enable all family members to thrive in their homes and communities.
Our Vision
We are the community that facilitates life literacy
so families can flourish.
